Genisphere's 3DNA Starfish technology offers researchers a more sensitive and specific alternative to conventional cDNA probes. Starfish in situ probes allow the researcher to select gene-specific oligonucleotide sequences (30-100+ nucleotides) which are attached by Genisphere onto fluorescent 3DNA dendrimer molecules, providing a simple oligo probe capable of delivering dozens to hundreds of fluorescent labels to each target molecule. The Starfish hybridization protocols are similar to those used with fluorescently labeled oligo or cDNA probes and have been optimized for cytoplasmic targets. Protocols for chromosomal targets are under development.
The Starfish product line also includes fluorescently-labeled positive and negative control kits. |
