Human
genomic DNA was restricted with EcoR1, loaded onto gels at the concentrations
indicated, electrophoresed, and blotted onto membranes. The left membrane
was probed with a 3DNA EasyAP probe and detected with chemiluminescence
(20 minute film exposure). The right membrane was probed with a 32P
labeled random primed cDNA (17 hour film exposure).

3DNA - the ideal non-isotopic detection
system
3DNA non-isotopic probes represent a new generation of hybridization tools with
enhanced sensitivity and reliability. Now you can use non-isotopic labeling and
routinely detect a single copy gene in < 0.2µg of human genomic DNA in
a Southern blot or detect low abundance mRNAs in a Northern blot. Further, you
can detect and distinguish between low abundance mRNA sequences that differ by
one base because a 3DNA probe's target sequence specificity is determined by an
oligonucleotide. With 3DNA products, you get results you cannot get by any
other method in Southern, Northern, or library screening experiments.

The basis for this unprecedented performance is 3DNA dendrimer technology. The
highly branched 3DNA dendrimer is a scaffold decorated with hundreds of biotin
or digoxigenin molecules along with multiple target-specific oligonucleotide

Mutation analysis - detect single base
mismatches
3DNA probes as short as 18 bases can be used to detect single base changes in
mutations and polymorphisms. They can be directed to extremely well-defined
regions of a gene or RNA and used for fine-structure gene mapping, to follow
the expression of closely related allelic genes, to check the integrity of
transfected-expressing genes, or to screen genomic or cDNA libraries. They are
ideal for high-throughput screening including high density colony
arrays.
